Capodanno at Contini

A new year is less than two weeks away – have you decided how you’re going to welcome 2025?

Edinburgh is, of course, party central on 31 December. But if you’d prefer to see the old year out over dinner in a stylish Italian restaurant, that can be arranged.

Contini on George Street is serving up a five-course tasting dinner, with a glass of prosecco at the ‘bells’. A sample menu features dishes such as tortelloni stuffed with Eyemouth lobster, Highland beef cheek slow cooked in Chianti and dark-chocolate mousse topped with fresh passion fruit. 

There’s also live music throughout the evening, from singer/performer, Rosie Sings. It costs £165 per person and starts at 9pm, finishing at 1am.

You don’t have to stay out late though. For those who’d rather be at home when midnight arrives, Contini is also offering a set three-course dinner from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, for £60
