An online magazine for and about businesses of all sizes, in Edinburgh and beyond

Dobbies garden centre is running a free, rose-themed event on Wednesday 4 and Saturday 7 June, at its Lasswade and Livingston stores, at 10.30am and 3.30pm.
The in-store workshop will provide attendees with the chance to learn more about growing roses, covering different types of roses; planting basics; pruning; and tips for trouble-free roses. There will also be a demonstration on how to deadhead, to encourage the healthy growth of new blooms. Attendees will have the opportunity to try this gardening skill during the event.
The workshop runs for 30 minutes and includes a Q&A session, as well as advice on how to choose the right roses for different garden spaces.
Dobbies has over 250 varieties of roses to choose from, including rose bushes, rambling roses and climbing roses, as well as ‘Special Dad’, a favourite of rose enthusiasts, now available at Dobbies for the first time.
Dobbies plant buyer, Nigel Lawton said: “Roses are a timeless garden favourite, providing a vibrant pop of colour, a delicate fragrance when in bloom and are a magnet for pollinators like bees and butterflies.
“There are so many wonderful varieties, perfect for any outdoor space. We’re excited to help demonstrate some planting and pruning tips to help gardeners in Edinburgh enjoy these popular flowers throughout the summer months and into autumn.”
Spaces are limited and booking is required.
