Edinburgh Business and Lifestyle: meet the editor 

Edinburgh Business and Lifestyle is an independent publication launched in late September 2024, to share the good news about businesses in Edinburgh.

 

We publish news stories and features about businesses of all sizes and all sectors.

Due to popular demand, in 2026 we expanded to cover businesses in other cities and towns in Scotland (and beyond)

The editor, Fiona Nicolson, is a professional journalist, with 24 years’ experience as a news reporter and features writer. She has written for more than 40 publications in Scotland and across the UK during that time – about a wide range of business and lifestyle topics, from interior design and travel through to pensions and insurance.  She is also a trained editor.

 

Her other career experience includes decades of PR consultancy for successful smes in Edinburgh, East Lothian, Perth, Stirling, Glasgow and Aberdeen, and years of working as a contract investment-communications consultant, writer and editor, mainly in the City of London.

Fiona is Scottish, and knows Scotland and its businesses well. She first moved to Edinburgh in 1996, when she lived in the West End. She moved to Stockbridge in 1998 and has either lived there or had a base there ever since. She specialised in entrepreneurship when studying for her MBA at Edinburgh Napier University and her dissertation research was published.

Nowadays she lives in the Borders with her husband and two cats.
