Edinburgh Zoo is offering a ‘roaring rugby brunch’ on 1 and 9 February, when rugby fans can enjoy a zoo visit, including free parking, as well as brunch, before making their way to nearby Murrayfield.
Lisa Robshaw, head of marketing and sales at the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZSS), said: “This scrumptious brunch is a great way to start the day ahead of cheering on your team.
“After enjoying breakfast, there’s plenty of time to explore the zoo and meet stars like Haggis the baby pygmy hippo, before heading over to the stadium to watch the game.”
Rugby fans visiting the zoo will also be able to check out other attractions, such as Scotland’s only sloths, more than 100 penguins and Asiatic lioness, Bindee – a new resident, who moved to Edinburgh from a zoo in France, last December.
The zoo opens from 10am, and breakfast is served between 10.30 and 12.30. A selection of Scottish breakfast favourites will be available, including bacon, eggs, sausage and square sausage, along with tea, coffee and juice. The Mansion House bar will also be open for visitors seeking additional refreshments.
The cost for the zoo visit and brunch is £35 for adults and £25 for children (£20/£13.50 if members of the zoo).
The 1 February Six Nations game is between Scotland and Italy and kicks off at 2.15pm. On 9 February, Scotland will battle it out with Ireland, from 3pm.
