Making memories of Edinburgh

Taking selfies is part of the fun of a great holiday or mini break. But for memories of a special getaway, how about a professional photo shoot with your other half? 

If you’re planning a trip to Edinburgh, the Nira Caledonia hotel in the New Town offers a ‘couples photography experience’ for its guests.

The two-hour photo shoot takes place in some of the capital’s most photogenic spots in both the New Town and the Old Town.  The photographers, Rose and Julien, are a couple too.

The way it works is that they contact you before your arrival at the hotel, for a pre-shoot consultation. On the day of the shoot, they’ll meet you at the hotel – and the session begins. You can expect more than 100 images and unlimited full-size downloads from a private online gallery, as your keepsake of the day.   

The cost of the package (including your stay at the hotel, with breakfast and the photography) is from £537 per night. It’s available all year round, from 2 December this year, through to July 2026.
