Dhoom restaurant and bar in Dunfermline has announced that it has donated more than £50,000 to charities and community groups, since it opened in 2018, with £16,500 donated to local charities and community groups over the past 12 months alone.

Its monthly community-gifting initiative is funded through a combination of regular restaurant and customer contributions. Over the years, the initiative has supported vital local causes, youth sports teams and community associations across Fife, across activities such as football, gymnastics, cricket, swimming and martial arts. It has also, on several occasions, donated to Pittencrieff Park and its peacocks.

Chef/proprietor, Dhaneshwar Prasad said: "It is an absolute privilege to give back to the Dunfermline community that has embraced us so warmly over the last eight years.

"Hitting the £50,000 lifetime milestone is a testament to the generosity of our amazing customers. By working together, small monthly contributions add up to make a massive, tangible difference to local charities that keep our community thriving.”

“We are now inviting the public to nominate the community champions they would like to see receive a donation in November. This can be an organisation, group, club or charity. We will see who gets the most votes and allocate donations throughout November. We are very excited to do this.”
