‘Mad March Pearls’ jewellery event in North Berwick
Jeweller and jewellery consultant, Clare Blatherwick is hosting a pearl-themed event at her studio in North Berwick on 29 and 30 March, from 10am to 4pm.
Clare said: “Nowadays we are seeing a real resurgence in interest in pearls as we incorporate colour into designs, string them onto vibrant threads and mix pearls of different origins together.”
A professional pearl stringer will be in attendance, to help with necklaces that might need restringing and refitting, which she will undertake at the event. Renata strings pearls for European royalty and international celebrities. The cost of her services starts from £100.
Clare will also showcase a selection of various types of pearls, as well as jewellery from her ‘Harmony’ collection. This includes 18-carat gold, diamond-set hoop earrings, and 18-carat gold, pear-shaped, orange-sapphire earrings, both with detachable, freshwater cultured pearls.
Reflecting on what she likes about pearls, as a jeweller, Clare said: “I particularly appreciate their versatility; range of shapes and colours; and the fascinating story of their origins.”
The studio is at 27 Station Hill, North Berwick. There is no need to book, and the event is free to attend.
