Brunswick Book Club celebrates its first anniversary
Brunswick Book Club, the community café from Edinburgh’s family-run Vittoria Group, is celebrating its first anniversary.
Located on the corner of Brunswick Street and Leith Walk, the venue sits on the site of the group’s very first restaurant, Vittoria, which was opened by “Nonno” Alberto Crolla back in 1970.
In its first year, the Brunswick Book Club has served up 21,221 lattes, 16,807 Aperol spritzes, 11,892 Margaritas and 9201 smoothies, as well as more than 16,000 dishes of fish and chips and over 13,000 tacos.
Open daily from 9am until late, the space seats 65 inside and another 85 on the patio. There’s live music at the café Monday-Wednesday and a weekly pub quiz on Thursdays.
Director of Vittoria Group, Leandro Crolla, said: “Brunswick Book Club was built to give the community a place to gather that’s relaxed, welcoming and full of character.
It’s amazing to think that this same building has been part of our family for over 50 years. We’re proud to keep its legacy alive in a new way, and grateful to everyone who’s made our corner of Leith part of their routine this past year.”
