Air-Pot® representative attends royal reception at St James’s Palace to celebrate King’s Award success

A representative from the Edinburgh developer and manufacturer of Air-Pot® containers recently attended a royal reception at St James’s Palace in London to celebrate the firm’s 2026 King’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade.

Marketing & sales representative, Georgie Single, joined fellow award recipients from across the UK at the special event hosted in recognition of businesses honoured with awards this year.

Georgie, who met Princess Anne at the event, said: “It was a huge privilege to represent Air-Pot® at St James’s Palace and reflect on what this award means for our family business, our small but mighty team and our wonderful partners who have supported our journey down the years. I was overwhelmed with pride to be there.

“It was such a wonderful occasion and a gorgeously sunny day too. It was also a tremendous honour to celebrate alongside so many inspirational businesses from across the UK.”

Air-Pot®, developed and manufactured by The Caledonian Tree Company, was named a recipient of a 2026 King’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade in May, recognising its sustained export success across more than 40 countries worldwide during the past 36 years.

Founded in 1990 by Jamie and Suzie Single, The Caledonian Tree Company employs eight staff in Scotland and works with international representatives supporting growers across global markets.

Georgie added: “Receiving the King’s Award for Enterprise was already an incredible accolade, but attending the royal reception brought the achievement to life in a very special way.

“As a second-generation family member involved in the business, it made me immensely proud to celebrate our parents’ vision, the dedication of our team and the global success of Air-Pot®. It was a day I’ll never forget.”

The firm’s innovative Air-Pot® container system is manufactured from recycled HDPE (high-density polyethylene) and is designed to enhance root structure, improve plant health and support more sustainable growing practices worldwide.

Used by commercial growers, nurseries, botanical gardens, research institutions and home growers globally, the system is proven to deliver significantly increased growth and long-term plant performance.

Now in its seventh iteration, with the Air-Pot® 7 range, its technology continues to evolve, with the company expanding both its product range and international reach.

Approved by the King, the award places the Scottish company among the UK’s most respected exporters, and grants use of the King’s Award Emblem until 2031.

The award will formally be presented in Scotland to the company at a later date by the Lord-Lieutenant of the city of Edinburgh.
