The Palmerston named one of the UK’s top 100 restaurants
The Palmerston restaurant has been listed in the top 100 restaurants in the UK, in this year’s National Restaurant Awards, for the fourth year in a row.
Co-founded by James Snowdon and Lloyd Morse, The Palmerston opened in Edinburgh’s west end in 2021.
James said: “We’re delighted to be included in the list for another year, particularly alongside our Scottish peers, and many other brilliant restaurants like Dongnae in Bristol, representing the industry beyond London.”
The Ritz took the top spot in the awards, which were launched in 2007 and are organised by Restaurant magazine. Chefs, restaurateurs and food writers do the voting.
Edinburgh’s Lyla and The Little Chartroom also made the top 100.
The Palmerston focuses on local and seasonal produce. The menu changes daily and features dishes such as grilled-fennel soup, with apple and fennel-seed dressing; plaice with Jerusalem artichokes, broad beans, bacon, crème fraiche and Pernod; and elderflower pannacotta with strawberries and shortbread.
It has its own on-site bakery, producing fresh bread and pastries, which are also supplied to other Edinburgh restaurants.
