An online magazine for and about businesses of all sizes, in Edinburgh and beyond

Sephra Popcorn, based in Kirkcaldy, has ended the year with a new deal, with Scotmid. The firm’s popcorn is now available in 145 Scotmid stores in Scotland, including 68 in Edinburgh.
Other retailer stockists to date include Morrisons, SPAR, RS McColl and Asda.
All of the 145 Scotmid stores are now stocking flavours such as sticky toffee pudding and gingerbread, in 200g tubs. In 118 of the stores, 140g tubs of both Sephra’s sweet and salty, and its sweet flavour are available.
Sephra Popcorn is part of Sephra, which specialises in the manufacture and distribution of dessert-making, patisserie and bakery equipment, ingredients and confectionery for the food-service and retail industries, in over 70 countries. The company also has a base in the US and has 33 employees across its two locations.
Commenting on the popcorn deal, Sephra managing director, David Archer, said: “It’s very good news. Scotmid is just the type of retailer we need to continue building this brand.”
Looking towards next year’s opportunities for the business, he added: “We are excited to be bringing a new, premium, Italian chocolate brand to the UK market in early 2026.
“The aim is to continue growing and building the business. I feel we have huge
potential in the US market, so this is a focus.”
