Scotch-whisky cream-liqueur brand, Magnum, has secured a new deal to supply over 20 Sainsbury’s stores across Scotland.

Magnum Scotch Malt Whisky Cream Liqueur is now hitting the shelves at selected Sainsbury’s stores in Edinburgh, as well as in Glasgow, Aberdeen, Fife, Ayrshire, Stirling, West Lothian, South Lanarkshire and the Borders.

For the first time, bottles of Magnum will be available to Sainsbury’s customers for £28 per 70cl bottle (ABV 17 per cent).

Magnum, which is created and bottled in Scotland, is a fusion of single-malt Scotch whisky and cream. It is described as having smooth, creamy caramel notes and a warming ginger ‘afterglow’.

The product is already distributed across Scotland, the rest of the UK, Canada and South Africa, and Magnum reports that by using the latest automated technology, bottles of the liqueur are flying off the production line at the rate of around 40 per minute.

Magnum is sold in reusable and recyclable packaging, in the form of a stainless-steel flask container. The firm says this keeps the liqueur chilled at the optimum temperature, without the need for ice.

Lee Schofield, director at Magnum said: “It’s a really exciting time for Magnum. Not only have we established the brand, but we’ve reinvented the traditional cream liqueur and created an innovative and sustainable solution to how it is packaged and presented.

“By teaming up with Sainsbury’s, we’ve carefully selected key retail outlets to help reach local communities across Scotland.

“Our vision for Magnum is uncompromising and our ambition is straightforward. We craft a premium cream liqueur that contains the finest single-malt Scotch. Provenance, premium ingredients and sustainability remain at the heart of everything we do.”

Scotland’s world champion curling stars, Team Mouat, are also the official faces of Magnum’s new partnership with Sainsbury’s, including team skipper, Bruce Mouat, as well as Hammy McMillan, Bobby Lammie and Robin Brydone.

Lee added: “Team Mouat is an amazing group of guys, who really embody the spirit of our nation. As Scotland’s curling world champions, we think they’re the perfect ambassadors to represent the Magnum brand and curling across Scotland, including our new partnership with Sainsbury’s.”
