A new, online magazine for and about businesses of all sizes, in Edinburgh and beyond
Acanthus Interiors has announced a move to new premises, in the spring, when it will be relocating from 201-203 to 98 Bruntsfield Place.
Owner and interior designer, Rebecca Currie, started Acanthus in 2005, since when it has grown to employ a team of five. The business has been operating from its current premises for 15 years.
Refurbishment of the new shop is underway – and has revealed a pleasant surprise. When the drop ceiling was taken down, impressive steel beams were found. These will now be incorporated within the design plans for the space.
The new location has other advantages, as Rebecca explained: “When I first visited the new shop, I was struck by the beautiful natural light it offers and how the space lends itself perfectly to our needs. It will better allow us to showcase our work and the craftsmanship of our suppliers.”
Rebecca also shared a few tips for anyone looking to improve their interiors in 2025:
“Forget about trends and what other people think. Choose what you love, trust your taste, make the most of your property features and work with the best professional interior designer. They will care as much as you do about what you are trying to achieve.”
Some current Acanthus projects include creating new interiors for a home in coastal Fife; a modern farmhouse in East Lothian; and a Victorian property in Merchiston.
