Linlithgow optician highlights drivers’ autumn eyewear needs
As autumn’s darker evenings and changing light conditions emerge, Robert Callander, practice owner of Robert Callander Eyewear, says it’s time for drivers to consider whether their eyewear meets their needs.
The Linlithgow-based practice, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, specialises in eyewear for drivers.
For drivers who find headlights distracting, struggle with reflections or notice that their glasses feel less comfortable on longer journeys, the team is encouraging a discussion about their particular needs.
Robert said: “Driving can make particular demands on your eyes. You’re looking between the road, mirrors and dashboard, while light conditions can change throughout the journey.
“The starting point is understanding what you find difficult and checking that your prescription is up to date. From there, our team can help you explore suitable lens designs, filters, coatings and a frame that fits properly. There isn’t one pair of glasses that suits every driver.”
He added: “After 25 years, the most useful question is still: what do you need your glasses to do? For someone who spends a lot of time behind the wheel, that deserves careful attention.”
