DAC Beachcroft strengthens Scottish real-estate capability with partner appointment
International law firm DAC Beachcroft has appointed Clare Dewar as a partner in its real-estate team in Scotland.
Clare, who joins from Brodies, brings more than 20 years' experience in commercial real-estate matters. In recent years she has advised on some of Scotland's most significant transactions, including major retail, office and hotel acquisitions and disposals, portfolio-management mandates and complex development projects.
Clare will work closely with the firm’s national real-estate team in the UK to help bolster its Scottish offering and enhance the firm's ability to support clients across Scotland, Wales and England.
Alison Key, head of real estate, said, "Clare is an outstanding addition to our real-estate team.
“She brings deep knowledge of the Scottish property market and extensive expertise advising on complex asset management and investment matters.
“Her arrival broadens the support we can provide to clients with property portfolios in Scotland, while strengthening our ability to deliver seamless advice across the UK. We are delighted to welcome her to the firm."
Clare commented, "DAC Beachcroft has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality real-estate advice to clients across the UK, and I am delighted to be joining the firm.
“The combination of a strong Scottish presence and a national platform creates a compelling proposition for clients, and I look forward to helping build on that success."
While DAC Beachcroft’s origins date back to 1762, the firm evolved into its current form in 2011, with the merger of Beachcroft and Davies Arnold Cooper.
It operates from 11 UK locations, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast, London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Newcastle, Newport and Southampton. The firm also has offices in Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East.
