Ticker and ShareSoc have announced a joint initiative to support and strengthen investor participation in the UK public markets.
Ticker, a platform dedicated to democratising access to stock-market data and insights, joins forces with ShareSoc, a not-for-profit membership organisation for individual investors. ShareSoc's mission is to ensure that the voice of the individual investor is heard and respected in the UK’s financial markets.
The partnership will see Ticker support ShareSoc in its ongoing work to empower individual investors by collaborating on initiatives aimed at improving access to information and engagement between companies and their shareholders.
The initiative reflects the shared beliefs of both organisations that individual investors should have equal access to high-quality market data and insights; transparent, accessible information is essential for informed investment decisions; individual investors play a vital role in healthy, well-functioning capital markets; companies should engage openly and fairly with all shareholders; public markets should remain inclusive and accessible to all participants; and that investor education and access to tools and information are key to long-term market growth.
Ticker is focused on removing barriers that have traditionally limited access to meaningful financial data, providing real-time information, advanced analytics and actionable insights to investors of all levels. By aligning with ShareSoc, Ticker is underlining its commitment to a more level playing field in public markets.
Chris Willmott, co-founder of Ticker, commented: “We’re pleased to be supporting ShareSoc at a time when improving retail participation in UK markets really matters. Better access to information is a key part of that, and there’s a clear overlap between ShareSoc’s mission and what we’re building with Ticker.”
Mike Dennis, director of ShareSoc, said: “ShareSoc exists to help individuals invest with confidence; access to high-quality information is a key foundation of that mission.
“We are delighted to partner with Ticker, whose commitment to democratising stock-market data aligns perfectly with our goal of empowering individual investors.
“Together, we can ensure that individual shareholders are no longer at a disadvantage, providing them with the tools and insights they need to make informed decisions and play a more active role in the UK’s capital markets.”
