Edinburgh tops global ranking of cities with best customer service

Analysis by MoneySuperMarket has revealed that Edinburgh tops the global ranking for the friendliest customer service, with 59 per cent of reviews of businesses here mentioning friendly staff and service.
The platform analysed more than 100,000 customer reviews of customer-facing businesses, across 107 cities around the world.
It found that three other UK cities also made the top 10: Liverpool, Birmingham and Bristol. Beyond the UK, Dublin, Paris, Hanoi, Montreal, Vienna and Abu Dhabi were in the top 10 too. Other UK cities made the top 20, including Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff and Leeds.
For each city, the reviews were analysed for mentions of friendly staff and excellent service. Cities were then ranked by the percentage of reviews containing these markers, with the highest percentage earning the top spot for friendly customer service.

“As businesses grow and build strong reputations online, it’s important to make sure they are protected.

It can offer reassurance that businesses are prepared for the unexpected, while also showing customers that their experience is taken seriously – from the moment they walk through the door to long after they’ve left.”
