Shepherd brings former police station to market
Shepherd Chartered Surveyors is bringing a former police station to market for sale as a potential development opportunity.
The former Ferguslie Park police station, in Paisley, 8.5 miles south west of Glasgow city centre, benefits from strong transport links with the A737 nearby, linking the building to the M8, the south and Scotland’s wider motorway network. Paisley St. James train station is less than a mile away, offering frequent services to Glasgow Central station and the west coast.
The former police station occupies a prominent corner pitch on Ferguslie Park Avenue within the community hub of Ferguslie Park, with a community centre, schools and a sports centre all within a mile.
The 2,422 sq. ft. single-storey standalone premises are within a secure site area of a third of an acre, with the yard and building serviced by secure vehicular access via Blackstoun Road as well as secure pedestrian access via Ferguslie Park Avenue.
The former police station comprises a reception area with an adjoining office. It also has two larger rooms, along with multiple smaller storage and office spaces.
The parking area to the rear is secured behind a locked gate and houses a storage shed as well as individual covered parking spaces for up to 10 vehicles, with ample extra open space available.
Fraser McDonald at Shepherd Chartered Surveyors, the sole selling agent, said: “This former police station with secure off-street covered parking offers a potential development opportunity with scope for alternative use, subject to planning.”
Offers in excess of £75,000 are invited. Shepherd said there has already been keen interest expressed in the property.
