Rockwealth Edinburgh celebrates its first anniversary
Financial-planning firm, rockwealth Edinburgh, is celebrating its first anniversary, having opened its doors at the end of August 2024.
Director and financial planner, David Bowen, had built up decades of industry experience, before taking the plunge.
Reflecting on his career move, David commented: “This is something that had been planned for a number of years. After around 20 years in employment with large wealth managers, the time was right.
“I met with Tim Horrocks, rockwealth’s founding partner, and discussed setting up as an appointed representative. I had seen the success of rockwealth in Aberdeen, and I wanted to replicate that.
He added: “The first year of rockwealth Edinburgh has exceeded my expectations.”
Rockwealth was founded in 2013 and has 12 offices throughout the UK. The areas of financial planning that David advises on include pension and retirement-saving strategies; tax-efficient structures; the structure of retirement income; inheritance-tax planning; and protection planning.
Rockwealth Edinburgh is currently a team of two – David and Alex Au-Yeung. David said: “I am lucky to work with Alex as he very efficiently deals with the administrative aspects of our work, and this is very important while I am out seeing clients.”
David also sees potential for the head count to expand, as he explained: “Opportunities always present themselves and as our growth continues, I would consider taking on more team members.
“I want to continue to bring fixed-fee financial planning to more clients across Edinburgh and beyond. I am very clear about my maximum client numbers, but as and when I get closer to capacity, I would think about taking on another financial planner.”
Looking to the future, he said: “I want to continue to build on the good start that I have made, and to continue to build up my client bank.”
