The Pain Care Clinic in Leith has won the award of ‘Best Complementary Therapy Specialists 2025 – Edinburgh’ in the UK Enterprise Awards.

Business owner, Amanda Oswald, specialises in myofascial release (MFR) to treat chronic pain. She was first inspired to practise MFR after researching advanced anatomy and physiology and specialist bodywork techniques to help her own recovery from a slipped disc.

The UK Enterprise Awards, which have been running for almost a decade, celebrate the innovation, resilience and excellence of the country’s businesses.

Commenting on the award, Amanda said: “It is always such a privilege to have my work recognised. Myofascial release is a new and as yet relatively unknown therapy in the UK, despite having existed for many years.

“As a complementary therapy it is not included within NHS treatment plans, so many people find me through their own research into help for their chronic pain. The awards help to bring me to their attention.”

The clinic is approaching is first anniversary, having opened in Leith, in September 2024. Amanda also runs a clinic in Leeds and offers online appointments. She is the author of self-help guide, Living Pain Free: Healing Chronic Pain with Myofascial Release
