Edinburgh is many things, to many people – and here we share what Leah Bryce, of Leah Bryce Property Sourcing particularly loves about our capital city.
What is your favourite part of Edinburgh?
This is such a hard question because there are so many beautiful and interesting parts of the city. But if I had to choose just one, it would be Stockbridge.
There’s something about its village ‘feel’ and the independent shops, restaurants and the wee boutiques make it special. Stockbridge has charm, character and community in equal measure.
Also, being just moments away from the Water of Leith for a peaceful walk feels like such a luxury in the middle of a capital city.
Where is your favourite place to eat in Edinburgh?
It completely depends on the occasion as we are truly spoilt for choice. For comforting, consistently delicious food, Café Gallo in Stockbridge is a firm favourite. The coffee, smoothies and dishes are always fantastic.
When I’m craving a ‘melt-in-the mouth’ curry, Thai restaurant, Dusit, on Thistle Street is still top of my list and has been for over 15 years.
What is your favourite place for a walk or run?
Inverleith Park is my favourite for the panoramic views across the skyline towards Edinburgh Castle.
What’s your favourite shop in Edinburgh?
I adore Galerie Mirages and auction house Lyon & Turnbull. They’re treasure troves for
beautiful, often unique pieces – whether it’s jewellery, artwork or furniture. If you’re looking for something with a story, something a little bit special or the perfect gift, they’re hard to beat.
Where’s the best place to be in Edinburgh on a sunny day?
When the sun is shining, I love heading down to Fishers on the Shore in Leith and sitting outside by the water. The Neighbourgood Market in Stockbridge is fun too, for its great atmosphere and lots of wonderful local brands. I enjoy watching Wimbledon on the big screen there, along with a glass of Pimm’s or fizz.
