Hardies Chartered Surveyors has helped AIC Heating UK celebrate a significant construction milestone, with the topping out of its new £6m investment from its parent company in Europe.
The ceremony celebrated this state-of-the-art, purpose-built headquarters and training facility in Lochgelly, marking the completion of the building's structural frame and roof.
Once complete, the new facility will become AIC Heating UK's flagship UK base, providing office, warehouse and specialist training space.
It will showcase the company's latest high-efficiency, commercial-heating technologies, including commercial gas boilers and hot-water generators. The building will also serve as a hub for colleagues and clients from across Europe.
AIC Heating UK said that the investment reinforces its long-term commitment to Scotland and is expected to support further business growth. The company currently employs 12 people in Fife, and anticipates increasing its local workforce.
Stephen Wilson, managing director, commented: "Reaching the topping-out stage is a major milestone for everyone involved in this project. Seeing the warehouse and training facility take shape really brings home the scale of this investment and what it will mean for our business, our clients and our team.
"We're creating a modern facility that reflects our ambitions for future growth while strengthening our presence in Fife. We're also proud to have partnered with many local businesses who are playing a key role in bringing this development to life."
The topping-out event brought together representatives from Fife Council, alongside the project team led by Redpath Construction, the main contractor.
Representatives from the wider design team, including Hardies Chartered Surveyors, Entasis Architects, Bayne Stevenson Associates, Helix Consulting and Tayview Management Services also attended, together with AIC UK and Europe’s executive teams.
Graham Rolfe, partner at Hardies Chartered Surveyors, said: “We are delighted to undertake the quantity surveying, contract administration and principal-designer services for our client, and look forward to delivering this fantastic office and warehouse facility in the heart of Fife.”
Clark Moore, construction director at Redpath Construction, added: "We're proud to be delivering this landmark development for AIC Heating UK. The topping-out ceremony was an opportunity to recognise the collaboration, commitment and expertise shown by the entire project team in reaching this important milestone.”
