Grassmarket sports bar named Edinburgh Rugby’s official away hub

A Grassmarket sports bar has been named as the official away hub for Edinburgh Rugby when it hits the road again this season.

The Black Bull is teaming up with Edinburgh Rugby once again to bring the Hive Stadium roar to the heart of the city, marking the third year of the partnership.

With its city-centre location, eight high-definition sports TV screens and ability to host up to 260 guests at once, The Black Bull has been confirmed by Edinburgh Rugby as its official away hub until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Rugby fans can expect player appearances and special Q&A events. All Edinburgh Rugby season ticket holders can enjoy 20 per cent off their total bill any time, while any Edinburgh Rugby fan gets 20 per cent off on match days.

To help celebrate the latest partnership, the team of chefs at The Black Bull has created a new Edinburgh Rugby-themed menu, including Ruck & Roll Spice Bag, The Tartan Trophy Pie and The Full Back Burger.

Alaan Lavety, deputy general manager at The Black Bull, said: "If The Black Bull knows one thing, it's sport. We have eight high-definition sports TV screens across the venue and show all the biggest games for rugby fans to enjoy.

"You focus on the game, and we'll keep you fuelled with some tasty grub and a pint of our own locally brewed beer."

Edinburgh Rugby has been competing at the forefront of Scottish and European rugby for over a century and a half.

Edinburgh Rugby wing Wes Goosen is the face of the club's renewed partnership with The Black Bull for 2026/27. He said: "The Black Bull has become a second home for us over the past year, so we couldn't be happier to continue making it our official away hub for our supporters into autumn 2026 and spring 2027.”

For the first two matches of the new season, The Black Bull is staging Edinburgh Rugby pre-match parties, including a private 30-seater coach to transport supporters from the Grassmarket to Hive Stadium.

Tickets are priced at £15 per person and include a pint of Cold Town Beer or Murphy's, and a meal from The Black Bull buffet.
