An online magazine for and about businesses of all sizes, in Edinburgh and beyond

Back in 2008, a community event was launched in North Berwick – in 2024, this 10-day multi-arts festival contributed more than £9m to the local economy.
This year, Fringe by the Sea runs from 1-10 August, with a wide variety of events taking place, spanning music, comedy, conversation, film and family entertainment.
This will include talks by Sir Chris Hoy and by Joe Wicks, and on the musical side of things, the Boomtown Rats will be performing. Air will also take to the stage, to perform Moon Safari, in their only appearance north of the border this summer.
Some of the many different activities include a sandcastle competition, surfskate sessions and making a herbal first-aid box.
A street-food village will offer seafood, pizza, tapas, smash burgers, loaded fries, crepes, tacos, milkshakes and more.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome.
Commenting on the range of events this year, festival director Rory Steel said: “As word of Fringe By The Sea’s welcoming atmosphere and brilliant talent on show spreads year after year, we’re always aiming to keep one step ahead with an ever more impressive line-up.
"And what a billing we have this year; with more than 250 events taking place in North Berwick this August, there’s absolutely something for everyone.”
He added: “Of course, none of this would happen without the magnificent team who work for the festival as well as our wonderful volunteers.”
