Fauchon L’Hôtel Kyoto celebrates five years of Parisian gastronomy and Kyoto culture

Fauchon L’Hôtel Kyoto, the French brand’s first gourmet hotel in Japan, is celebrating its fifth anniversary this month.

To mark this milestone, it is offering special anniversary ‘experiences’, including an exclusive accommodation package, a commemorative ‘hommage à Kyoto’ menu and themed cocktails.

The exclusive accommodation package, available until 31 August, for a limited number of people, includes a suite with access to the Fauchon Lounge, as well as a rickshaw tour of the Gion district; a one-day ‘kimono experience’; a photography session in Kyoto; a 90-minute bespoke treatment at Le Spa Fauchon; and a dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.

The hommage à Kyoto menu, available till 31 March, applies French culinary techniques to local ingredients and includes dishes such as Miyazu fish, Kyoto Nanatani duck and a dessert featuring Uji matcha. Le Bar Fauchon will feature a selection of cocktails inspired by the traditional Gozan Okuribi, Kyoto’s summer bonfire ceremony:

“It is an honour to lead Fauchon L’Hôtel Kyoto at this symbolic moment of five years in operation,” said general manager, Kiyoshi Gomamoto.

“Since the pre-opening phase, our objective has been to build a hotel that unites Fauchon’s ‘joy of living through gastronomy’ with the refined elegance of Kyoto. We will continue to strengthen our operational excellence and deliver a truly unique experience for guests from Japan and around the world.”

Hiroshi Komoto, chief executive of World Brands Collection Hotels & Resorts, the hotel operator, added: “Paris and Kyoto, two cities shaped by deep history and refined traditions, share a common spirit - a respect for heritage combined with a constant pursuit of innovation. This mutual affinity is at the heart of the warm reception our hotel has received in Kyoto.

“Five years after opening, the hotel has established a distinctive vision of luxury through gastronomy, bringing together French gastronomic tradition and Kyoto’s seasonal culinary culture.

“By pairing Kyoto’s finest ingredients with classic French culinary techniques, we offer refined dining experiences that resonate strongly with discerning international guests. This harmony between Parisian elegance and Kyoto’s heritage defines our identity and continues to position the hotel as a meaningful bridge between the two cultures.”
