Edinburgh’s Whisky Craft launches First Light
Edinburgh’s Whisky Craft, an independent bottler, which opened in 2025, has announced that a new, permanent addition to its range is joining its seasonal collections, on 1 October.
First Light, a 21-year-old Highland single malt is the company’s first permanent ‘core expression’, building on its seasonal single-cask collections, with more than 20 single casks bottled to date.
Sonny Charles, Whisky Craft’s founder said: “Whisky Craft is an independent bottler, but our ambition has always been to build a modern whisky house. First Light is an important step in that development.”
Sonny also said that the whisky is designed to bring mature single malt to a wider audience and can be enjoyed neat, over ice, long or in a cocktail.
He added that First Light is fully matured in first-fill bourbon casks and described it as bringing together vanilla, honeyed sweetness, soft fruit and gently warming oak spice, with a smooth rounded character.
The launch will be marked with a celebratory event at Bonnie & Wild, today, 1 October.
The cost of a bottle is £85 (UK RRP).
