Edinburgh luxury label opens second store in the capital
Luxury handbag and accessories store, Strathberry, has opened a second boutique in its hometown of Edinburgh, on Victoria Street. Its first store in the city opened in 2020, on Multrees Walk.
The design for Strathberry’s new store showcases the architecture of the listed property, including an arch feature and period details. The interiors feature oak and brass finishings, soft lighting and natural-cork wall panelling.
Strathberry’s founders, Guy and Leanne Hundleby sourced a traditional, Scottish, cast-iron fireplace for the space. They also commissioned local artist Hayley McCrirrick to create artwork for the store, with frames made from locally sourced Scottish oak.
Hayley said: “Working with Strathberry felt like a very natural collaboration, with a shared appreciation for craftsmanship and attention to detail.”
Commenting on the new store, Leanne said: “This is a special location in the Old Town, surrounded by the beautiful architecture of the city which has inspired so many of our designs. I’m excited to have the opportunity to connect with our customers in this warm and inviting space, filled with the rich heritage and art that defines our city.”
Strathberry’s Victoria Street store opened on 20 February. As well as its two Edinburgh boutiques, it also has two in London – one in Mayfair’s Burlington Arcade and the other in Covent Garden.
