Dales Marine Services appoints new operations director
Dales Marine Services, a specialist in dry dock and ship repair, fabrication and conversion, has appointed Stuart McLeod as director of operations, strengthening its leadership team, as the company advances its long-term growth and operational strategy.
Stuart will have oversight of operations across all the company’s sites, leading Dales Marine’s day-to-day performance and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality ship repair and maintenance services to clients across its dock facilities in Leith, Aberdeen, Greenock and Troon.
Stuart has more than 20 years’ experience in the oil and gas and renewables sectors, and a track record in managing large, multi-disciplined teams. A chartered engineer with a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Strathclyde, he brings extensive experience of working with major energy, engineering and consultancy businesses, having previously held senior operations and director-level roles at Weir Group, Sulzer, Howden and FoundOcean.
Stuart is also a qualified executive coach who specialises in enhancing leadership performance of senior business professionals.
With his energy operations management, business transformation, management consulting and root-cause analysis skills, Stuart joins Dales Marine at a pivotal time in the company’s growth, which includes its recent expansion into a new facility at Montrose Port.
