Award winners launch album at Umbrella Vinyl

Umbrella Vinyl, a vinyl-only record shop based in Tollcross, has announced that Kai Reesu will be launching the vinyl release of their debut album at the store, on 20 December, at 3pm.


Kai Reesu recently won the Scottish album of the year 2025 award, for their album

KOMPROMAT vol.i.  The album will be played at the store throughout the day.


The band is led by Paul Copeland on keyboard and features vocals from Glasgow-based LA rapper Jurnalist.


Fans will have the opportunity to buy a signed copy of the record, and to chat with band members about the music and the making of this special limited-edition release, whichwas pressed at East Lothian’s pressing plant, Seabass Vinyl.


Laura Thomson, co-owner of Umbrella Vinyl said: “We are passionate supporters of local music on vinyl.


“We saw Kai Reesu play over the summer at The Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival and they were phenomenal.


“We are so pleased that they decided to" press KOMPROMAT vol.i on vinyl and thrilled that they will be in-store to meet and greet fans for this exclusive launch, and to sign records.


“We stock a number of recent vinyl releases by Scottish artists and are keen to support this creative community where we can.”
