Anderson Strathern Asset Management sets sights on growth with senior appointment
Anderson Strathern Asset Management (ASAM) has made its first senior appointment under managing director Arlene Ewing's plans to grow the firm's team and services across Scotland.
Jamie Daniels joins the team as senior investment director, bringing over 20 years' experience of managing investment portfolios for private clients, trusts and charities. He joins from Blackadders Wealth Management, where he was head of investment management.
A Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), Jamie will be based in Edinburgh, working with clients across Scotland.
As part of the wider Anderson Strathern group, ASAM provides financial planning and discretionary investment-management services, working closely with the law firm's legal teams.
Arlene commented: "It's an exciting time at ASAM as we focus on growing the business. We have a strong team of investment managers, and we want to build on that expertise while working more closely with our colleagues across Anderson Strathern.
"Jamie's depth of experience will be particularly valuable as we take these plans forward. Just as importantly, he shares our approach to looking after clients and understands the importance of taking the time to get to know them and their individual circumstances.
“Maintaining that personal approach is important to us as the business grows, and I'm delighted to welcome him to the team."
Jamie added: “Anderson Strathern’s strength is that clients can draw on investment and legal expertise under one roof. I’m looking forward to building on that offering and helping clients make joined-up decisions about their wealth.
“As consolidation continues across the wealth management industry, ASAM’s independence offers a natural fit for me given both my enthusiasm for investment markets and my desire for great outcomes for clients. That independence ensures ASAM can continue to focus on clients’ needs, first and foremost, a key driving factor behind my move.
“I’ve managed clients’ investment portfolios through both strong and challenging markets and have gained real perspective from that. That’s a real strength to pass on to clients to reassure and guide them through their investment journey.
“Taking the time to get to know clients, understand their aims and explain the investment strategy clearly is a vital part of what we do. I'm really excited to bring that experience to ASAM, working with Arlene and the wider team to build on the great success achieved so far.”
Jamie is also actively involved with Future Asset as a judge and mentor. The initiative seeks to encourage and support young women to explore careers in financial services.
