A new, online magazine for and about businesses of all sizes, in Edinburgh and beyond

Property firm Rettie has announced two new director appointments. Kevin Maley joins as director, town and country, after 16 years with Strutt & Parker, where was a senior director, based in Inverness. Lewis Gilmore joins as director, Glasgow west end, making the switch after 18 years at Clyde Property where he was most recently area director.
Commenting on the appointments, Alan Cumming, Rettie’s head of sales and financial services, said: “As established professionals in the Scottish property market, Kevin and Lewis bring valuable expertise that will help us expand further into the market and continue our growth plans in new areas.”
Kevin has more than 20 years of Scottish estate-agency experience, having handled the sales and purchases of prime properties across the UK, including castles and country
houses. At Strutt & Parker, he set up the firm’s Inverness office, covering the Highlands, Moray and Aberdeenshire. Following the firm’s acquisition by BNP Paribas Real Estate, he became head of agency for Scotland and the north of England.
Rettie’s town and country team has a strong presence in East Lothian, led by
director Andrew Smith, and in Perthshire and Stirlingshire, led by director Alastair Houlden. Currently, the team is dealing with some of Scotland’s ‘super-prime’ sales,
including Preston House in Linlithgow, Clathic House in Comrie and Old Stonelaws in
East Linton. Kevin’s remit will include expanding the firm’s presence in the west and north of Scotland.
Lewis began his estate-agency career in 2007, progressing to hold senior roles in the
west of Scotland, before becoming area director at Clyde Property’s flagship, Glasgow west end branch in 2016.
Rettie’s research team, led by John Boyle, is set to release its winter report on the
Scottish housing market, including forecasts on house prices and transaction levels in
2025.
