Leith pizza spot, Pala, is celebrating its first birthday by giving away a free bignè to its first 100 customers from 2pm on Saturday 13 June.
Inspired by its Italian heritage, Pala will introduce birthday bignès – a classic Italian choux pastry filled with cream, similar to a profiterole – for one day only. Just 100 will be available, and gifted to the first 100 customers who make a purchase at Pala on 13 June.
Pala is a collaboration between bakery Twelve Triangles and pizza chef Alessio Dossena. The name comes from pala romana – a Roman-style pizza traditionally served on wooden paddles (pala) in Italy’s capital.
Pala is at 7 Jane Street, Leith. Twelve Triangles is open at eight locations – seven in Edinburgh and one in Melrose, in the Borders.
