New appointment at Ralph Sayer

Ralph Sayer has announced that Napier University law graduate, Megan Kane, is the first solicitor to train and qualify with the Edinburgh law firm.

The business has enjoyed consistent growth since launching four years ago and brought in Megan in 2024 as its first trainee solicitor as part of a strategic expansion strategy.

Having attained her Diploma in Legal Practice from Strathclyde University, she has gone on to successfully complete her two-year traineeship, with chief executive, Ivan Ralph hailing her “invaluable” contribution in that time.

She has now accepted a permanent full-time role as a qualified solicitor at the family-run firm:

“Megan has been an excellent addition to the team,” said Ivan, who has seen his employee headcount rise to over 40 from an initial team of six.

“She has consistently produced high-quality work, has taken on a large case load and has fitted into the team seamlessly, both professionally and personally.

“We are delighted to have her on board in a full-time capacity and it’s an important appointment for us. Megan was our first trainee when she came in two years ago and I am delighted that she now becomes the first newly qualified solicitor to join us since we started out in 2022.”

Megan is looking forward to taking the first steps on her legal career journey with the company, which was nominated in the Growth Strategy of the Year category at the recent British Business Awards:

“I spent much of my traineeship doing conveyancing,” she said. “I started off assisting the managing partner, while slowly building my workload and by my second year I was managing my own caseload independently.

“In my second year I also spent four months within the firm’s private-client department where I assisted the partner in that team and gained invaluable experience.

“My traineeship with Ralph Sayer has been a wonderful way to start my career in law and I am excited to continue to develop with the firm as I step into my new role.”
