Launch of corporate pickleball league in Edinburgh

Updated: 15 minutes ago

Unicorn Pickleball is launching a dedicated corporate pickleball league at Meadowbank Sports Centre this summer.

Running from June to July, the eight‑week, Friday-evening league will offer Edinburgh companies an alternative to the traditional team‑building day. Sessions take place from 6.30pm-8.30pm.

The league seeks to bring together a small number of companies for weekly matches, with introductory sessions in early June to ensure everyone feels confident before competitive play begins. The introductory sessions are scheduled for: 5 and 12 June, with the league starting from 19 June.

Unicorn Pickleball, a family-run organisation, already runs popular sessions across other areas in central Scotland and boasts a growing community of over 200 members.

Its corporate league combines sport, social connection and brand storytelling, with professional photography, company‑branded kit and an end‑of‑season highlight video included. Packages start at £1400 per team.

Unicorn Pickleball was started by three brothers, Scott, David and Dean Baird. Scott said: “We wanted to create something that brought us together regularly but also opened the door to playing with other like‑minded people who value sport as a social experience.”

He added: “Pickleball is a fast‑growing sport that blends elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. It’s easy to learn, highly social and designed for all abilities, making it ideal for mixed teams and busy working professionals.

“Edinburgh already has a strong, welcoming pickleball community. Many of our members are based here, and we’ve had fantastic support from the Edinburgh Pickleball Club. Launching the corporate league is a way of building on that energy and giving more people a reason to play, connect and enjoy the sport together.”

“With pickleball's rapid rise in popularity across the UK, and a growing appetite for inclusive, experience‑led workplace culture, the league marks a timely addition to Edinburgh's business and sporting landscape.”
