AMIS, an Edinburgh-based charity which supports male victims of domestic abuse, has launched a new campaign, ‘AMIS 100 – Stand with a Man’, inviting 100 organisations to take a stand against abuse and support the men who experience it.
The charity reports that in 2025, it received almost 3,000 requests for support, with 651 men reaching out for help for the first time.
Carol-Anne Fordyce, head of services at AMIS, said:
“Many of the men who contact us tell us they delayed reaching out because they felt
ashamed or thought they wouldn’t be taken seriously. Some are living with coercive
control, emotional abuse, financial abuse or threats. The impact on mental health
can be profound.
“AMIS 100 gives businesses a way to show leadership. It says clearly that abuse is
abuse, and no one should have to face it alone.”
Businesses and community organisations can support AMIS 100 by joining the campaign as a member, for £250, as partner for £500 or by raising funds through workplace initiatives and team-building activities.
Funds raised through the campaign will support national helpline provision; one-to-one specialist support; and awareness-raising across Scotland.
